At Heartlands Veterinary Hospital our mission is to create At Heartlands Veterinary Hospital our mission is to create a centre of clinical excellence in the Avon Valley and wheatbelt region for all animals, both large and small. As part of a small local community we have a close and trusting relationship with our clients. We are a team who work hard together but also have fun in the process and we all help each other out when the going gets tough! Our working environment is one that places enormous value on teaching and learning, from work experience and vet students though to the nurses and the vets.
We are looking for a new or recent graduate wanting to work in a truly mixed practice. The position will be based at the York Hospital but will involve some work at the Brookton and Toodyay clinics. We service a large area of the wheatbelt, providing both in-hospital care for small animals and horses, as well as an ambulatory service which will allow you to get out into the fresh air and explore the beautiful Avon Valley.
As the successful applicant you will work a four day week and alternate Saturday mornings. We do provide an after-hours service which is one week in five. During the week you’re on call you will only work two days (during normal hours) and will have the other three days off. The salary offered is above award and the after-hours remuneration is well above what is usually offered to associate vets. Included in the salary will be one week of paid CPD plus four weeks of paid annual leave.
Our ideal candidate would be a new/recent graduate who is willing to learn and constantly be challenged by new tasks. Our caseload is very varied and so no two days are ever the same! Being in the country and providing an ambulatory service we are often presented with some pretty curly situations! As a new or recent graduate we understand that you will come with only a fraction of the knowledge and skills you need to have. We are willing to invest the time teaching and mentoring you to enable you to develop excellent knowledge and clinical skills. What we ask in return is that you bring your own personal skills and work with the team.
If you feel you would like the opportunity to join our team please email your CV and cover letter to our Business Manager – Annette LaBouchardiere – firstname.lastname@example.org
